Dolmabahçe Palace is the most glamorous of the Ottoman palaces, built in the mid-19th century on the European shore of the Bosphorus. It replaced Topkapi as the main residence of the sultans and reflects a blend of European Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles with traditional Ottoman elements.
